How long does an appointment take?
A regular session is thirty minutes long.
How many poses will I have?
We try our best to take up to five poses within the thirty minute session.
How much make-up should I put on? Is more better?
Poor make-up quality and improper application of foundation to skin color may result in unrealistic skin tones. And, yes, usually applying a bit more make-up than usual will offer better coverage for a smoother complexion and nicer highlights.
*When I bring my pet, what do I need to be aware of?
The staff at Create-A-Portrait loves pets…bring along anything from your favorite gerbil to your brother’s pet snake! We only ask that you make sure they are comfortable enough with strangers. We also recommend bringing along some treats as a reward for your pet’s good behavior! Please be a courteous pet owner by cleaning up after your pet, and keeping in mind the size of your animals. Don’t bring in anything unreasonably large.
I have severe pet allergies, should I be worried about having an allergic reaction in the studio?
No, we maintain a clean and safe environment. But please be sure to let us know in advance so that we can ensure the best possible pet dander situation for you and your health as a whole.
Can I look at my pictures while they are being taken in the studio?
No, we allow the photographer to choose the best shot from each pose after your session is complete. We do this so that your time in the studio is the most efficient…leave your pictures to a professional’s eye!
Do you take maternity pictures?
Yes, we do…but due to the nature of these photos please see us at our location to view samples.
When can we come back to see our photos?
The portraits will be ready for you to look at in one hour! There is no need for you to make an appointment to view them; this enables you to pick a time that works best for you!
Do you offer specialty baby pictures, such as baby hands and feet photos?
Yes, we do! We recommend making your appointment for such photos before the baby is one month. The sessions offer you a variety of poses; you can choose to focus just on the baby, or add in mom and/or dad!
How far ahead can I book?
We book a maximum of two weeks in advance, so plan your photo session accordingly.
What if I want to pre-book my grad day?
Sure! We do require a fifty dollar non-refundable deposit for all and any appointments booked beyond the regular two week time period. But note that when you come in for your appointment, this fifty dollars goes toward your package!
Do you take wedding portraits?
Not at this time.
Do you take passport pictures?
Yes, and we guarantee them too! No appointment is necessary; just make sure to not wear lighter colored shirts. Note that hair coverings are unacceptable unless for religious purposes, this also includes pig-tails and headbands.
